Gil Cueva Fontelera

Gil was born on May 18,1957 in Zambales, Philippines. He was the son of the late Arturo and Elena Fontelera. Gil had one brother, Roy Fontelera, and one sister, Mila Bautista. He received his high school diploma from Zambales Central Institute.

At the young age of 29, Gil married the love of his life, Anne. They had 3 children, Amanda, Ian Gilan, and Jane. Gil did the best that he could to provide his family with an amazing life. He balanced working as an SPD technician in several hospitals throughout San Diego, California, while trying to spend his free time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, as well as maintaining the house and cars.

He enjoyed taking his family on annual vacations to Las Vegas and Universal Studios. Gil was a great chef, specialized in filipino food and found a love in experimenting with different dishes. During his free time, he loved playing mahjong and cards, tending to his garden, listening to music and singing, and watching sports.

Gil Cueva Fontelera passed away in his Las Vegas home on October 24, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Anne Fontelera, his 3 children Amanda, Ian Gilan, and Jane, as well as his children in-law Jerry, Cindy, and Jerrik, and 4 grandchildren Noah Henry, Isaiah Jordan Thomas, Aiden Jay, and Alayah Ann.

A visitation for Gil will be held Friday, November 7, 2025 from 3-5pm, followed by a funeral service at 5pm, all at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 W. Warm Springs Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89113.
