Glenda Ann Peterson

Las Vegas, Nevada. Glenda Ann Peterson, 89, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026. She was born on January 15, 1937, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Henry and Zeland Ratliff. They moved with Glenda and her sister Barbra to Bakersfield, California, in 1940 and welcomed her brother Randy and sister Debbie over the next few years. They lived a simple country life in Bakersfield where Henry worked as a painter and Zeland was a housewife. They grew much of the fruits and vegetables they ate and owned livestock and horses. Henry also worked at the Bakersfield Speedway where his children often enjoyed the races and Glenda became one of the beautiful trophy girls at the speedway. Glenda loved to dance and she and her partner Johnny Parker, became one of the most talented Authur Murray dance teams of her time, often appearing on popular variety shows on television. They went on to help open Authur Murray studios in Montana where they trained their instructors. Glenda then moved back to Bakersfield and met her first husband Chuck, in 1960. They were both very adventurous and movie star gorgeous, and they headed to Las Vegas for a more exciting life. Chuck worked in gaming and Glenda continued to dance becoming one of the first bikini cage dancers at the famous Pussycat A Go Go on the Las Vegas strip. Chuck and Glenda had one daughter, Starr. She married her second husband Gary in 1968 and moved to Mina, Nevada, where Gary owned a small mining corporation. They had one daughter, Steffanie. Glenda and Gary moved back to Las Vegas in 1970, and she began working as a cocktail waitress at the Las Vegas Hilton/International where she stayed for 27 years. She often waited on celebrities and even rode the elevator with Elvis many times before he walked on stage. She married her third husband Huge in 1980, and they lived a very active life until Huge’s death in 2013. Hugh was a fantastic golfer and taught her to play and they enjoyed being members of the Las Vegas Country Club for many years. They also loved to travel, water ski and snow ski, and had many great friends. Glenda is survived by her daughters Starr (Steve), Steffanie, sister Debbie, grandchildren Luke, Summer, and Matthew, and many wonderful extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Zeland, husbands Chuck, Gary, and Hugh, her sister Barbra and her brother Randy. Glenda will best be remembered for her zest for life and devotion to family, especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life. Her memorial service will be held on August 28, 2026, at 10 am at Palm Mortuary on Eastern in Las Vegas, Nevada.
