My mother and I always had a special mother and son relationship. It was very important for me to spend the last several years with my mother on her Birthday, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other visits. I will always cherish those special memories for ever and ever that we shared with one another. I feel so fortunate to be at my mother’s bedside, to hold her hand, comb her hair, and tell her that I Loved her every, every much. As my mother lied in her bed, I noticed that her breathing became shallower and weaker, and I whispered into her ear, “we are all here, it is okay to leave mom.” My mother then peacefully faded away from this world and started her journey to be with her Heavenly Father in Heaven. My father, sisters, and I were happy that our mother passed away gracefully.

A poem by Pat O’Relly:
God made a wonderful Mother,
A Mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And he made her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks, fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful Mother,
And He gave that dear Mother to me.

Saying goodbye to your mother is not easy and it’s tough knowing that you will never see or talk to her again, but I know that I will see her again in heaven. For now, I only have cherished memories of a loving mother and the special moments we spent together for the past 66 years.
