She was born in Granville Hollow, Pennsylvania on March 22, 1930 to Joseph Leeper and Blanche Pichard-Leeper. Her family consisted of two sisters Shirley Aglio and Blanche “Doll” Carson and two brothers William “Bud” Leeper and Merland Dale Leeper.
She married her true love, Francis F. McGurk, and raised her three kids, Kenneth Richard Brown, Marilyn Joyce Brown-Pixley and Donna Jean McGurk-Justin.
She worked for 27 years in Dearborn, Michigan at Ford Motor Company. After she retired, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. She spent her time volunteering at McCarran International Airport as well as Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
While volunteering at LVMPD she earned many awards and gained recognition for the dedication of her time and hard work. Along with volunteering she also worked with local schools by donating needed school supplies at the start of each school year. She loved to travel and enjoyed luncheons with her friends. She loved going to the beach and spending time with her kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters Marilyn Pixley and Donna Justin who are both greatly impacted by her love, generosity and spirit of life.
She will be missed beyond expression and her spirit will forever be carried in our hearts.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 with a burial to follow at 2:00pm at Palm Eastern Mortuary and Cemetery on 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 1725 Palora Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89169 starting time around 3:15pm.
