Grant Ho Hin aka Grantie, Gruntie, Sarm-Kao, Odie and just Grant left us too soon on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the early age of 47. Grant was born on November 19, 1973 in Johannesburg, South Africa to Ho Chang and Margaret Hin. He leaves behind his loving mother, 3 older siblings, 2 nephews and a niece (who loved him to the moon and back), aunts, uncles, cuzzies from across the globe and his adopted TSA family and friends.
After graduating high school in Maryland and while completing 2 years of community college, he explored positions with banking, Motor Vehicle Administration, librarian assistance, car financing, flight attendant, Putt-Putt & Golf Manager. He eventually found a place at TSA where he felt he belonged. Grant began his career with TSA in June 2004. After a year at BWI, as a young man he felt a need for change, a bit of independence and adventure. With the family’s blessing and promises that he would be safe and guard against falling into the pitfalls of “Sin City”, he transferred from BWI airport to McCarran airport late 2005. Thus his adventures and love for Las Vegas began.
Grant lived by “you gotta make it fun or what’s the point”. He was fearless and faced any challenge with a smile on his face, a can-do positive and “let’s make it fun” attitude. His ever present warm smile, good nature, kindness and generosity touched all that met and knew him. Those that knew him well had the pleasure of his goofy jokes, teasing, pranks, bear hugs and his never-ending love of Starbucks coffee (Frappuccino).
This world shines less bright without his presence. Grant will be always in our hearts, cherished and deeply missed.
Grant was a huge advocate for supporting local small businesses during these difficult times. To honor him, please consider supporting a local small business in lieu of flowers.
