Harold E. Whitfield

Harold Eugene Whitfield, 82, a long-time resident of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on September 11, 2013 after a long illness. He was born on May 2, 1931 in Scottsboro, Alabama to William and Frances Baldwin Whitfield. He married his soul mate and partner for life, his wife of 41 years, Delphia Jean Whitfield.

Harold was a resident of Chicago, Illinois for many years. He worked for the Chicago Board of Education for 36 years and was the principal of Horace Mann Elementary when he retired.

He loved to travel and spent his retirement years traveling to many places of interest.

Harold is survived by his wife Delphia Jean; children Harold Eugene Whitfield Jr., David Lawrence Whitfield, and John Elliot Whitfield; granddaughter Tsedey; and great-grandson David.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 10:00-11:00am followed by a funeral service at the Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89121. Burial will be held at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada.
