Today we gather to celebrate the Homegoing of Harry Coleman; husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age. He passed away on November 14th, 2025 at West Henderson Hospital after a courageously fought battle against cancer. Harry was hopeful that his participation in a new research program would somehow help other patients along the way.
He was born on December 24th, 1939 to George and Emzie Coleman in Buckhead, Georgia. His parents preceded him in his passing. After graduating high school in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Harry, along with his childhood buddies Warren, Push, and Byrd joined the US Navy and "saw the world". On November 27, 1987, he married his devoted wife, Faiona Whitted, who remained by his side until death did part them. Harry was employed by Ford Motor Company in Chicago Heights, where he was a skilled tradesman in the tool and die industry and retired after 40 years on the job.
He enjoyed collecting rare coins, sports memorabilia, and watching professional boxing matches. But most of all, he loved family. The annual Coleman Reunion was the highlight of his summers. Harry made his transition to be reunited with his parents: George and Emzie Coleman, his brothers: George and Richard Coleman, his sisters: Bettye Watson, Norris Oten, Sarah Blunt, and Carrie Lou Hatten.
We are joined by the evidence of his bountiful life. Harry's loving wife, Faiona Coleman. His children: Donna and husband Roderick Kuykendall of Clayton, Ohio, Ivy Coleman of Park Forest, Illinois. Denise Cobb of Henderson, Nevada. Ian Coleman and wife Darline Coleman of Dacula, Georgia, and Michael Williams and wife Jennifer Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada. His grandchildren Tevin, Taylor, Sarah, Ryan, Faiona Shai, and Nia also join us. As well as his brother, Charles and his wife Loretta Coleman of Whiteplains, Maryland. Plus a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
God saw the road was getting tough, the mountains were harder to climb. He gently closed those loving eyes and whispered "Peace Be Thine". The weary hours, the days of pain, the sleepless nights are of the past. The ever-patient worn out frame has found sweet rest at last.
