Hayden Thomas Ruckel, 16, a life-long resident of Las Vegas, passed away on May 31, 2020 in Las Vegas. He was born July 14, 2003 in Las Vegas to Jay and Pamela Ruckel and lived with his parents and younger sister, Clara.
Hayden was a student at Desert Oasis High School and previously attended Tarkanian Middle School and Stuckey Elementary School. He worked as a sandwich-maker at Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop. Hayden was considering further education and training in fields ranging from culinary arts to auto mechanics.
Hayden loved his family and having fun with his many friends. He loved animals and the family pets Millie, Daisy, and especially Bruno, his chihuahua-mix dog that passed away earlier this year. He was a Cincinnati Reds fan who enjoyed good food and cooking, traveling, playing video games, tinkering with electronics, and working. Hayden easily made new friends with his naturally warm and caring nature, his beautiful smile, and one-of-a-kind personality.
He is survived by his mother and father, Pam and Jay Ruckel; his sister Clara Ruckel; half-brother Ryan Ruckel; grandmother Meliany Martin of Springboro, Ohio; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Ohio, Indiana, Florida, Louisiana, Virginia, Tennessee, and California.
Donations in Hayden’s memory may be made to the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm, June 13, 2020 at Palm Eastern Mortuary.
