

Hazel (Tina) Martina Dye Martinez, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt, peacefully left this world on April 7th, 2025, at age 77 in Pahrump Nevada. Tina was born in Alabama on November 11, 1947, to Elleve B Petersen Dye and Bailus VanBuren Dye and moved to Utah when she was a year old.
Tina went to school in Midvale, Utah and graduated from Jordan High School. Tina loved to do various crafts and was very good at her creations, but she especially loved to crochet which she generously gave to her family and friends. Tina also loved to travel and along with her best friend Lavonne she was able to visit all 50 states and shared many souvenirs, stories and pictures of her travels.
Tina married Joe S Martinez on March 7th, 1966, in Manti, Utah and together they raised four beautiful children, Christopher, Candy, Angela and Troy. Family meant a lot to Tina, and she dedicated her life to her family, and she created a beautiful, warm and welcoming home that was always opened to all. Later in her life Tina met and was acquainted with an additional six half siblings.
Tina is survived by daughter, Angela Lee Martinez whom she loved with all her heart; brothers and sisters whom she was raised with, Tim (Jean) Dye, Dane (Tammy) Tom, Amber Trujillo, Judy Tom (Allen McCoy), Kesty (Alan) Smith, Nena Trujillo (Brian Monks), also, brother Larry Dye and sister Carol (Reed) Eubanks both from Florida; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews all of whom meant the world to her.
Tina was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joe S Martinez; sons Christopher and Troy; daughter Candy; brother Martin Niels Maymi; and sisters Frances Dye Keenan, Janice Dye Loveridge, Dixie Ray Dye, and Judy Dye McArthur.
Tina will be honored and missed by all who loved her! The family expresses their sincerest and deepest gratitude for the services provided by the Nathan Adelson Hospice and Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Pahrump. A special appreciation to Lavonne and Dennis Benson for their love, care, support and hospitality for Tina and her family.
Services will be held on Friday, June 13th, 2025, at St Theresa Catholic Church, 624 Lennox Street, Midvale, Utah; for the family Rosary at 10:30am; funeral at 11:00am; and graveside services to follow at the West Jordan Cemetery, 7925 S 1300 W, West Jordan, Utah 84088 at 2:00pm.
Luncheon to follow burial and details will be announced on the day of the service.
