

Heinz Ward, age 92, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026. Born on December 3, 1933, in Cologne, Germany, Heinz began his journey of service by enlisting in the United States Air Force while living in Germany. He proudly became a United States citizen through naturalization during his military service and honorably served 21 years to his country before retiring as a Technical Sergeant.
Heinz was a devoted husband, father, uncle, brother, and beloved Opa who cherished his family deeply. He will be remembered for his dedication, strength, kindness, and love for his family and country. His legacy as a proud Airman and cherished family man will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Heinz was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Marette and Elizabeth Deutscher; his daughter, Jayne Susan Ward; his brother, Theodor Marette; and his sister, Rose Burauen.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Lani Ward; his children, Michael Ward (Regina Reynolds), Liza Lara (Joe Lara), and Chris Ward; his five grandchildren, Matthew Ward, Andrew Ward, Allanah Ward, Jeremiah Lara, and Mila Lara; his great-granddaughter, Kaylin Ward; his great-great-grandchildren, Carter and Clayton Reynolds; and his niece, Ellen Lucia Heyden.
