Dear, sweet, beloved Aunt Helen...my mother in my mother's absence...I fell in love with you when I was ten years old and we visited the U.S.A. for the first time, in 1958...Such a beautiful, benevolent face and manner...always soft spoken [the antithesis of your beloved sister, my beloved mother Matilde]...you remained the same way ALWAYS...even in my last few phone calls to your nursing home a few weeks ago, when I played my bass for you...Had I known you were so close to dying, I would have performed my Ave Maria on the bass for you then, instead of all the other pieces I played over the telephone...You and I became even closer eleven years ago, when, like you, I converted to the one True Faith, the Roman Catholic faith...I have spent all morning praying the Catholic prayers for the dead, plus a few exorcism prayers, to insure that you will be saved...Requiescant In Pace...Your loving nephew Guillermo....

Jim & family,  I was saddened to read of your Mother's passing. It's been a long time since we've spoken,but I remember the love and devotion you had for her.

I also remember the times you would speak of your nieces, who, I'm sure, are young mothers of their own now.

Please accept my sincere sympathies.  We are poorer for her passing, but heaven is richer, and God has a good woman by His side.

Dear Tia helen! My mentor and guide in so many things about life and love and generosity, all the way from my adolescent years! Your joyous spirit, your love and acceptance of life-as-it-is plus your practicality have been the twin beacon ( together with my Mom's, your sister Tilly) that have guided me throughout my adult life! Thank you will never be enough, and I will always have you present in my heart and mind! Your older siblings are probably rejoicing as you now join them for that eternal Family reunion, that will include Uncle Mike, my Dad, Guillermo, Grand Mother Julia and so many others who went before you. May you have fair winds and calm seas to that final destination!

My dear Aunt Helen meant so many different good thing to so many of us, throughout our lives. She gathered affection from everyone who knew her, but she shared and doled it out ten- fold. She was like our second Mom during our adolescent years, who listened and then guided with loving tolerance, understanding. She had such inner strength as well as moral conviction, yet never judged nor condemned in haste. I will always be grateful for her moral support, and am proud to still use and live by so many of her examples and solutions to life's basic problems.
The youngest of four siblings, all of which were so contrasted, yet so close. She was the last one to follow her beloved Evan, Tilly and Gordon, who I am sure have received her with open arms, in the company of Carmen, Uncle Mike and Guillermo, my Dad, and all of whom will watch over those of us who remain. Fair winds and a safe Journey to your final Home, Dear Aunt.

Mrs. Helen Moran -- such a fine and pleasant woman -- so friendly, lovely, personable, and kind. She raised a fine family. Over the years she assisted many in need as a professional nurse. She left the world a better place. Rest in peace Mrs. Moran.
