

Henry Grodzinsky, 84, passed away April 7, 2014. He was born August 14, 1929 in London, England. His mother, Leah, died when he was just four years old and he was sent to the Norwood Jewish Orphanage in London at the age of 6 During World War II he was evacuated with the Orphanage from London to Worthing Sussex, where he spent 5 years living with different foster families. He left the Orphanage at 15. He joined the Royal Air Force at 18 where he met his ex-wife Joyce. They married in 1949 and had one son, Lennard. They were divorced in 1961. Henry never remarried but had a lifelong sweetheart, Betty Bodenitz, who he met at the Orphanage when he was just 6. Henry and Betty traveled frequently all around the world together and to the end; there was never a day that went by when they didn’t talk to each at least twice. Initially Henry was a Tailor for women’s garments but found his true calling when he went to work with Prudential selling insurance. His gift of the gab and his genuine interest in people propelled him to success. After living in the same house in London for over 40 years, Henry, at the age of 82, decided that he would sell up and relocate to Las Vegas to be closer to his remaining family. Henry is survived by his son, Lennard; grandson, Alex Grodzinsky; daughters-in-law, Sharron Grodzinsky and Geraldine Grodzinsky; lifelong sweetheart, Betty Bodenitz; and thousands of friends. A memorial service and burial will be held for Henry at 3:00 pm Friday the 11th of April, 2014 at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89120, In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the National Kidney Foundation or Diabetes Association. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
