

Herb “Herby the Hat” Lipson, 78, a retired businessman and salesperson in the sports memorabilia and art industry, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. He was born on September 26, 1937 in Malden, MA to Samuel and Mona Lipson (nee Tenzer) and was a Southern Nevada resident since June 1992. He was a member of Midbar Kodesh Temple. He was an avid sports fan, championship pool player, poker player, humanitarian, and Shomer for the Southern Nevada Jewish community. Herby is preceded in death by his parents and survived by Sara-Ann, his beloved wife of 26 years; three daughters, Michele Riedl of Sleepy Hollow, IL, Julie (Travis Tresnitt) Lipson of Portland, OR, and Dana (George) Kalomiris of Crystal Lake, IL; one son, Jeffrey (Katie) Lipson of Carpentersville, IL; brother, Paul (Judy) Lipson of West Bloomfield Hills, MI; and six grandchildren, Mason, Julian, Lauren, Ellis, Zoe, and Sadie. Funeral services will be at 10:00AM on Friday, November 13, 2015 at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane. Burial will follow at King David Memorial Cemetery. Family requests that memorial donations be sent to Midbar Kodesh Temple’s Hazak Library or the Conservative Chevra Kadisha Fund c/o Midbar Kodesh Temple. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
