

Herbert (Bubba) Bell, 88, passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 13, 2017. Born in Union Springs, Alabama on November 27, 1928 to Thomas and Clara Adams Bell, Herbert joined the U.S. Army and served as a radio operator in Korea during the Korean War. Upon his discharge from the military, he moved to Detroit, Michigan. Learning the art of sewing from his mother, Herbert became a tailor. After mastering his craft, he became a clothing designer to much of the Motown entertainment community. Herbert met his wife, Carolyn, and from their 44 year union, three sons were born. Makau, Mashavu and Maulidi will cherish his life. Herbert loved running, playing tennis, playing his tenor saxophone and listening to jazz. He continued his trade as a clothing designer until he sustained traumatic injuries in 1990 caused by a distracted driver. Herbert and Carolyn moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in July 1997, but continued to enjoy travelling until he was unable to do so. He is preceded in death by his son, Robert; his older brothers, Thomas Jr. and John; and his older sister, Mary. Herbert leaves behind to celebrate his memory his children, Cassandra, Herbert Jr., Kelly, Kim, Jydia, Kenyatta, Shedrick and Clifford; his older brother, Theodore (Ted); and his devoted nephews, Carl and Richard Jr.. He also leaves behind grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 5th at 11AM, with reception to follow, at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 W. Warm Springs Rd., Las Vegas, Nevada 89113.
