Biography

Hung Cong Dang was born on November 22, 1946 in Vietnam to Vinh Luu and Dau Dang. He was raised with five brothers and three sisters and lived in Vietnam, Hawaii, and Las Vegas. Hung grew up to value responsibility and reliability, and loved to joke around with everyone.

In 1970, Hung exchanged wedding vows with Khanh Ly, and together they shared a loving marriage. They were blessed with one son, David; and three daughters, Lynn, Carolyn, and Frances. Hung was committed to his family, escaping the Vietnam War, and reconnecting with his family in America. He worked hard to be a good father to his children and adored his grandchildren, Andrew, Brandon, Isabel, Lucas, and Alani.

Hung worked as a delivery person for Bo Wah Trading, and as a bus person for MGM. He had a strong work ethic and worked diligently every day to provide for his family. When not at work, Hung enjoyed looking at cars, raising birds and fish, going to garage sales, and taking Khanh to the casino. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He and Khanh traveled often in retirement, and together they would go sightseeing and visited family in Hawaii, California, Australia, Hong Kong, and many parts of Asia.

Hung passed away on January 5, 2021 at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Khanh; his children, David (Leticia), Lynn (Michael), Carolyn, and Frances (Jesse); and his beloved grandchildren. Services were held at Palm Southwest Mortuary. Hung was laid to rest at Palm Northwest Cemetery.

Hung was a simple yet funny person, and will be remembered by his family and friends as being a devoted family man. He was a vital part of their lives, and he leaves behind him a legacy of many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Hung Cong Dang.
