It is with great sorrow that we share our family’s great loss. Our mom, Ines “Conchita” Aquino, went home to be with the Lord on November 30, 2024. Her life is a testimony of passion, hard work, courage and love for her family. Her God-given powerful vocal talent was instrumental in bringing together her brothers to form the Ibe family band, Conchita and The Far East. The band toured all over the United States in the 70’s and 80’s. They were a fixture in the live music scene wherever they go, catering to sold out crowds and loyal fans. She eventually settled in Las Vegas, where she retired. She was always the best dresser in the room. She loved the color white. She always exuded elegance and sophistication. She was a tough one. She endured health issues until she succumbed in the peace of her sleep. Her presence is larger than life and she is missed greatly.
Our mom was born to Tripona Mercado and Fernando Ibe, Sr., on February 6, 1942. She is the 8th of a family of 14 brothers and sisters. Her siblings are: Juan, Dominga (Deding), Efren, Alberto (Bert), Amancio (Pancho), Alfredo (Fred), Maria (Conching), Clarita (Laring), Alfonso, Romy, Javier (Jayvee), Ramon and Fernando (Junior).
She leaves behind her husband, Ray Aquino, their children, Tess Aquino-Quaglieri, Michelle (Elmer) Aquino-Yumul, Marilen Aquino and Marc Anthony Aquino and her grandchildren, Ashley Marie Brown and Krista Marie Quaglieri.
We are grateful to all who have consoled and expressed their love and support to the family. May we remember the learned lessons from the way our mom, Conchita, lived. May we remember her, vibrant.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
"A Time for Everything"
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
