

Jacinta Hugo Terciano was born on August 16, 1923 in a beautiful small village of Catigan, Tayabas, Quezon, Philippines to Pedro Hugo and Eduviges Ablaña. Jacinta was the youngest and only girl among four siblings. She has an innate talent for music thus at an early age she taught herself to play the japanese guitar, an instrument very few people can play. Later in her life, her skill on the organ keyboard was also self-taught.
She was a looker that even during her early teens she has had numerous admirers. She was one of her village hometown beauty queens. She dreamt of becoming a doctor but the outbreak of World War II prevented her from fulfilling her dream career. Instead, at an early age she eloped and married one of her suitors, Eriberto Ravida Terciano, Sr., a grade school teacher.
They lived a happy modest life in Lucban, Quezon, Philippines until his death in March, 1978.
They were blessed with eight children namely, Rufinita, a nurse; Amerius, an electronics technician; Bayani a doctor of medicine; Wilson, an accountant; Virginia, a nurse; Magdalena, an accountant; Eriberto, Jr., an engineer; and Geminiano, a doctor.
After her husband’s death, she migrated to the United States to be with her other children. She gladly helped in raising her grandchildren by babysitting for them. She even sewed sleepwear for them and for other members of the family.
Jacinta had several hobbies, like doing crossword puzzles, embroidery, sewing, cooking, playing musical instruments, dancing and most of all gardening. She dearly loved tending the garden that her backyard blooms with several varieties of fruits, ornamental plants and colorful flowers and foliage.
Her love for travel, especially cruising, brought her to several parts of Europe, Asia and Northern America
She was such an amiable person that even her children’s friends fondly call her “Nanay”, a Pilipino word for “Mother”.
She will be remembered for her witty humor, motherly loving advice, generosity, and ever beautiful aura in her countenance.
The Lord Almighty called her to His Kingdom on August 26, 2016, just ten days after her 93rd birthday.
