

Dr. James Allen McMurrin, Jr., age 56, of Henderson passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 6, 2013 aftera valiant fight with cancer. Born March 22, 1957 in Ogden, Utah, he had been an area resident for the past 21 years. He married Debra Morley in Ogden, Utah on April 26, 1975. Their marriage was later sealed in theOgden LDS Temple.He is survived by his wife, Debra, four children: Jennifer (Dax) Gurr, Mary (Steve ) Hensley, Emily (Neil) Smith and Jimmy McMurrin, eight wonderful grandchildren, Hailey, Kaleb, Ethan, Haydn, Emmett, Kennedy, Jackson and Millie; sisters: Marcia (Ben) Bowles, Alice (Bob) Urry and Sparky (Tom) Humphrey and sister in law, Susan McMurrin.He was preceded in death by his parents, James Allen McMurrin and Patricia Emmett McMurrin and brother, John McMurrin.Dr. McMurrin was a partner with Anesthesia Associates in Henderson. Most recently, he instructed and mentoredmedical students asActing Assistant Dean of the Clinical Education Department at Touro University. Jim had a passion forwords, maps, history, politics and aviation. He loved the west andits beauty.He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved the lord, his family and friends. Family will receive friends 4-7pm Friday at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. and from 10-11am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Pebble Canyon chapel, 2701 E. Pebble Rd., Las Vegas. Interment will take place in Ogden, Utah on May 13, 2013.
