JANELLE WHALEN It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Janelle Renee (Parrott) Whalen, 33, of Henderson, who passed away April 7, 2011. She was born May, 7, 1977, in Wakeeney, Kan., and was an 18-year resident of Nevada. Those of us left behind are heartbroken, but also extremely honored and proud to have been a part of her life. She was planning to begin work on her master's degree in May. She was a speech therapist at Robert E. Lake Elementary School in Las Vegas, and was dearly loved by both her staff and her students. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Alexa. Janelle is survived by her daughter, Kylie; her parents, Raymond and Joyce (Halling) Parrott; grandmother, Arlene Halling; her seven siblings and their spouses; her dear friend, Xavier Planta; and nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
