Mom,
I have vivid memories of you and I driving from Green Twp. to the Ledgewood Mall on the commute to Rockaway. We would enter the mall, through the same doors, park in the same lot and visit the same store routinely. You would shop, then buy me new drumsticks, an album or whatever else and then we would have lunch. We've spent many hours, days and minutes doing so. Early on, I would tell you about my love for motorcycles. Then that turned into my love for playing the drums and finally my love for hockey. You listened for hours while I begged for the newest piece of whatever new equipment I needed for my hobbies. You always supported my dreams no matter how insane they may have been.

Your passing was unexpected which makes it harder. You have not only been a great mother but an even more amazing grandmother. You always knew how much I wanted to be a father and have a family. That had been a long, painful journey for me until I met Yvonne and we had the boys. You were not only Liams grandmother but you were his best friend. He already misses you tremendously. I know he would love one more day, one more hug, one more kiss or even one more conversation with you. He has always held you extremely close to his heart and always will.  Colin is equally devastated. Colin told me he wants one last day with you. The night that we lost you, Colin played in his best game of the season, netting 2 goals. At that point, he had no idea that you had left us but we know you gave him the energy to do so. Thank you for standing by Colin's side, when he was diagnosed with Leukemia. My personal wish was that you and dad would see him beat the evil that is cancer. We all succeeded in that. We have days missed, days wasted and time we can no longer get back but we have memories and I can take solace in that. Liam, Colin, Yvonne, Rosie, Zami and I love you deeply and we will miss you tremendously. Please say hello to Nanny and Jay for me. May you rest peacefully, Goosey. Unti next time ❤️

What can you say about the passing of your mom.  While I can go on and on about her, I can best describe my mom with a long conversation that I had with her (and my dad) in the past year.  I told them that when you have a child and imagine the life that you can give them, you can dream as much as you want.  However, they could never dream of what a great life they have given me.  I told my mom (and dad) that, “you gave me the best life that you could ever imagine, and more.  I love my life.”  That will be my best memory of my mom.  

Very few knew of our childhood and the tough times that my parents went through and somehow allowed us to be individuals.  One lesson in life that my mom gave me was when I told her that she could not “tell me what to do and that I live my own life.”  She said that was fine and told me to do what I wanted, when I wanted and stay out as late as I want (I was probably about 10).   Of course, I did not really want to do anything and for a few days, I went down the street, did nothing, but proved to her that I lived my own life.  In a way, I guess we both won.  She showed me the independence I demanded and I became independent and live my life as I dream of.

May she rest in peace knowing that all of us came together to support one another.  What more can a parent want.

My mom was my best friend, my one and only. I will always cherish every moment we had together. All the long and short talks, our texts, sitting in your room on your bed just laughing and bitching about all the things girls bitch about.

I already miss you and dad going back and forth with your comments, you just being here when I go downstairs, your smart-ass comments in the AM, stealing bacon, your smile, hugs, kisses and just you!!

I know you are free of fogginess, stress and many other things. No need to worry about dad and all the family we are strong and will pick each other up no matter what just like you would have wanted.

I’m at peace to a point because I know you are now dancing, singing, playing with all the animals, being with family and friends we have lost along the way.

I just wish I had one more day, one more hug, one more I love you so much but I know you are watching over us.  I can feel you next to me and protecting me.

Until we see each other again I love you and miss you with all my heart and soul.  Keep visiting us we need it!!!!

As I sit here in your room I'm looking at the picture and remembering all the great memories we have had. Here's just a few. 

I remember singing and dancing in stanhope while we were cleaning the house. I always would freeze (it was winter) because you had all the windows open to air out the house. You would use the broom or mop to sing into and play air guitar with it too. 

Once we were driving to the mall and you were yelling at me because I was putting mascara on and you said if we get in an accident you're going to lose an eye and within 2 minutes a car hit us. You were so mad you were yelling and kicking the door trying to open it because well you wanted to kick some ass. I had to block you from climbing over me. One tough little lady. 

You picked Donny up because you were pissed at him. You would give Kenny a 5 second lead before throwing a shoe at him 90% you hit him. Keith you would push or hit the back of his head just because. And me I cursed at you and you slapped me so hard I was looking for my face for about a week. That was a well-deserved slap.

We went school shopping at Macy's and you said hey Cheryl you don't have to shop in the clearance section anymore... We finally made it!!!! She had 6 bags full of clothing, shoes etc. She walked out of that store so proud and said it was definitely worth all the hard work. 

She put away her fear of flying and flew to Okinawa Japan to be with me for the birth of my 1st born Ashlyne. That was the best surprise ever!! We would sit outside and watch the Jets fly low, fast and it was loud and she loved it!! 

Mom and dad came to Quantico Virginia to be with me and babysit While I was having my 2d born Jimmy. That was a lot of fun just always hanging out and walking. 

I've cut her hair since the 80's because she was very picky and particular and I knew how she liked it. 

I have some regrets one was not visiting as much as I should have.

  I know I’ve told you how much I love and respect you all the time. I was so blessed to have such loving and caring parents that came from humble beginnings and with all your hard work, you were able to give me the best life that I could ask for. Just watching how you were the glue that kept this family together (and we needed a lot of glue), taught me how to be strong, never give up and keep fighting. Thank you for making me the man I am today. 

  I will never be able to explain how much I love and miss you. I will miss all the time we spent together just talking and telling stories. And I will definitely miss hearing you and hub arguing over the same thing. Now when I’m outside talking to you, others will never know it because I’ve been talking to myself for the longest time, like you told me I do. 

  Now you rest now mom. Don’t worry about dad and arty, I will make sure to watch over them as well as the rest of the family. You taught us well and now it’s up to us.

Sorry for your loss! My deepest condolences to you and your family!  My heart goes out to you all!

Uncle Don, Donny, Kenny, Cheryl and Keith,
I was so sad to hear the news about Aunt Janice but am grateful to Cheryl for letting me know.  She was a great aunt and both her and Uncle Don have always been so kind to me. My thoughts and prayers are with with you during this difficult time.
