Janis Lillian Sutton

Janis Lillian Brooks Sutton passed away peacefully at home on January 6, 2026. Janis was born in Morenci, Arizona to Mildred Lillian Jackson, and James Warden Brooks. Janis was the fourth child and second daughter born to Mildred and James. Janis grew up between Clark County, Nevada and Morenci, Arizona.

Once the family moved permanently to Henderson, Nevada, Janis completed and graduated Basic HIgh School in 1961. Janis was a great swimmer in High School and won many competitions. Janis worked at the Nevada Test-site for 5 years, and then for Lawyers Title as a Title manager for many years thereafter. Janis married the love of her life Gerald (Jerry) Sutton Jr. and they were married for 49 years. Janis had two daughters Irene DelGatto, and Linda Dunn who proceeded her in death.

Janis is survived by her husband Gerald (Jerry) Sutton Jr., Her daughter Irene (Mike) DelGatto, Craig (Denise) Sutton, Vance (Denise) Sutton, Grandchildren Olivia Handley, Ryan Hadley,Christopher(Vesna) Sutton and Brent(Samantha) Sutton and Great Grandchildren Paige,Harper and Nicholas.

Services are At Palm Mortuary on Eastern in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 2, 2026 at 10 a.m. with Internment to follow immediately after. You are invited to share you memories on the guestbook at Palm Mortuary on Eastern.
