Jayne Orensten Achter

July 28, 1919January 22, 2012

Jayne Orensten Achter, 92, passed away at home Jan. 22, 2012, with her loved ones at her side. She was born July 28, 1919, in Wilmington, Del. Jayne is survived by her two daughters, Nan Schwartz and Susan T. Spencer, whose father was Leonard H. Tose, the former owner of the Philadelphia Eagles Football Club. Jayne's beloved husband, Harry Achter, preceded her in death. Jayne's family also included her stepdaughter, Rhodan Vignaud; granddaughters, Carole Fisher, Michelle Schwartz and Marnie Schneider; grandson-in-law, Gary Fisher; and great-grandchildren, Brooke Wallace, Aaron Fisher, Jonathan Witten, Goldie Witten and Leo Witten. Jayne was an accomplished interior designer. She worked with numerous celebrities and well-known restaurateurs, as well as designing several country clubs. Most recently, she supervised the interior renovations at Nathan Adelson Hospice inpatient units. Jayne touched countless lives by making the world a more beautiful place. A woman of accomplishment, Jayne was an outstanding golfer, winning a number of amateur championships, a successful businesswoman, and a powerful role model for strong women. This reflected her drive and desire to be independent at a time when women followed a more traditional path. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, at King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane. The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice. Arrangements under the direction of King David Memorial Chapel, Las Vegas, NV.
