

Ethel Jean "Jeanie" Polci, 82, a retired accountant, of Las Vegas, passed away March 7, 2011, after a long illness.. She was born May 15, 1928, in Portage, Pa., the eldest daughter of Michael and Rose Polk, and was a 35-year resident of Nevada. She was raised and attended public schools in Passaic, N.J., where she met the love of her life, John Pasquale Polci, a Navy war veteran, in 1945. They married in June 1946 and had four children. Jean was a hard-working, loving mother who was always there to offer support and act as confidant for her children. She was employed for over 15 years in banking, first working nights in the check-clearing department and then as a bank teller. Her loving husband, John, passed away suddenly in 1975. She and her youngest child, John, moved to Las Vegas in 1976, where she worked for the MGM in the accounts receivable and payroll departments until 1991. Jean loved dogs. There was always at least one in the home and she loved the opportunity to play with the dogs of her children and grandchildren during frequent visits to their homes. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Phyllis Taylor; and her daughter, Carol Hedin. She is survived by her sons, Gary and John of Las Vegas, and Gerald of New Jersey; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
