Jeff was born January 4, 1965, in Cleveland, Ohio and was raised in the Chicago area. He graduated from the University of Minnesota, and earned his law degree at DePaul University. In addition to his careers in law and business, Jeff served as the president of Congregation B'nai Israel, in Rochester, MN. He enjoyed attending stand-up comedy shows, acting and playing Scrabble and Boggle, but more than anything, he loved music. Jeff sang in numerous bands, hosted karaoke parties in his home, and had become a karaoke DJ in the Twin Cities. He took immense pleasure in watching his children sing, act, play guitar and perform.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Alan Mintz and survived by his mother, Rabbi Yocheved Mintz; children, Lee and Gabrielle Mintz; ex-wife, Kristy Johnston Mintz; siblings, Ari Mintz and Anne Hunting, Steve and Trish Mintz, and Jon Mintz and Erin Trowbridge; nieces and nephews, Tani, Abby (Zach), Rachel, Molly, Sophie, Heidi, Jack, Judah, Willow, Justin (Kate), Field (Sandy) and William; as well as countless cousins and loving friends.
Please note that due to the Covid-19 pandemic and State of Nevada health regulations, Jeff’s funeral and burial services will be limited to his family members. Services will be live-streamed at https://tinyurl.com/jamintz on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at 2:00PM at King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, Las Vegas, NV.
