Jeffrey Peter Cichon, MD, passed away at home on March 30, 2016 after a heartily fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Jeffrey was born on January 31, 1954 in Passaic, New Jersey to a Russian Orthodox family. An accomplished and respected orthopedic surgeon in active practice in Las Vegas since 1984, Jeff graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Louis University in three years with a BA in chemistry. His academic career continued at Washington University School of Medicine where he met a sassy young nursing student, Vicki, who quickly became the love of his life. Jeff and Vicki moved to Los Angeles where he completed his residency at LA County University of Southern California Medical Center. Together, they moved to Las Vegas in 1984. Jeffrey was an Associate Professor at the University of Nevada School of Medicine as well as Adjunct Professor at Touro University. He trained and mentored many students who carried forward his academic legacy and commitment to treating patients not just with expert care, but with respect and compassion. Jeffrey also gave selflessly to the community. He served on the Clark County Medical Society Board from 1995 - 2005 and held the office of President from 1999 - 2000. Jeff was also a loyal and generous supporter of The Clark County Medical Alliance, the Junior League of Las Vegas and the National Charity League.
