Jerome Lloyd "Jerry" Borochoff MD, 75, passed away Sept. 1, 2012, in Las Vegas. Born in Tulsa, Okla., Jerry was a practicing physician in Houston from 1969 until May 2011, when he suffered a stroke. He graduated from Central High School in Tulsa. After receiving an electrical engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma, he worked for North American Aviation in Downey and Torrence, Calif., prior to earning a medical degree from the University of Missouri. During his college years, Jerry achieved membership in multiple honorary fraternities due to academic performance. Upon moving to Houston, he established his practice in family medicine. Jerry believed one never stops learning, which explains his motivation to read and absorb the many stacks of literature surrounding him on new horizons of medicine. Having dedicated himself to the preservation of life, the practice of medicine has suffered a great loss. He will be deeply missed by his patients, family and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Borochoff of Plano, Texas. Jerry is survived by his sisters, Diane Phillips of Tulsa, and Sheila Harding of Henderson; two nephews; two nieces; three great-nephews; and 10 great-nieces. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas. Burial following at King David Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of King David Memorial Chapel, Las Vegas, NV.
