Jerome Stanley Reichig

April 4, 1936 – August 4, 2025
Obituary of Jerome Stanley Reichig
IN THE CARE OF

Palm Eastern Mortuary & Cemetery

Jerome "Jerry" Reichig was born on April 4, 1936, to parents Morris "Murray" and Rose Reichig in Brooklyn, New York. He married Annette Pacuilla on September 20, 1958, and together they had their four children Karen, Elaine, Linda, and David.

Jerry is survived by his wife Annette; brother Leonard "Lenny" Reichig, sisters Barbara Rosenblum and Carol (Ely) Berger; Karen (Joe) Farmer, Linda (Kevin) Porrett, Elaine (Rich) Olson, and David Reichig; grandchildren Jonathan (Stephanie) Farmer, Austin Farmer, and Justin (Jillian) Porrett, great grandchildren Alex (Kandace) Farmer, Nicole Farmer, Brian Farmer, Bentley Farmer, and Malaki Farmer; and great great grandchildren Sophia and Veronica Farmer; and several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Jerry was preceded into death by his parents Morris "Murray" and Rose Reichig, Sister Arlene Hamilton; grandsons Stephen Farmer and Richard Olson; sister-in-law Patricia Reichig; and brother-in-law Ronald Rosenblum.

He was a true entrepreneur, almost fearless, when he should have known better. In 1975, they moved to California, where they lived until retiring in Las Vegas. While he was a butcher by trade, during their years in California they owned Fonzarelli's Pizza-a true family operation. From their teenage years to adulthood, the kids and their girl / boyfriends worked side by side with their parents, swapping stories over the dough counter, and learning the value of hard work (and laughter) until the day the shop finally closed its doors. Those years left them with more than just great pizza recipes-they carried with them a lifetime of shared jokes, late-night cleanups and the kind of bond you only get when you've worked side by side for years.

Jerry had an ornery streak a mile wide and loved to give his family a hard time, but with a huge smile. He always had a cigar in his shirt pocket and was ready to go for a "drive" to Vegas in his1965 Chrysler Imperial. He loved that car. He was a great storyteller; ketchup was his favorite food group and would frequently get caught sneaking snacks to the grandkids (and family dogs).

He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and a family forever grateful for his life. Though he will be gone from our sight, he will never be gone from our hearts.
