Before moving West, Jill was born, raised, and had her three sons while residing in and around Chicago, Illinois. During her Nevada years, Jill worked in various office-related positions but eventually left those to become a full-time wife and caregiver to David Rifkin, her much-loved partner and husband of many years. As a couple, the two of them were avid and accomplished ballroom dancers who “tripped the light fantastic,” whenever possible. David preceded Jill in death as did her parents, Raymond and Thelma Spindler.
In recent years, Jill, enjoyed decorating her home, working in her garden, caring for her adopted desert tortoise when he emerged from hibernation in the spring, sharing holiday dinners with family, and travelling. Jill especially looked forward to making road trips with her youngest son, Raymond and whenever they could bring her along, Jill’s tiny Yorkie and “puppy-love,” Angel.
Jill is survived by her three beloved sons, Peter (Christina), Edward, and Raymond Slabinger; her siblings Paul (Gail), Patricia (Tim), and Jeanine; her grandsons Matthew and Stephen as well as nieces, nephews and four grandnieces.
