Joan is survived by her husband of 71 years, Bernard Krebs, her two daughters, Debra Tully and Karen Krebs, three grandchildren, Keith, Leesha, and Chelsey, and four great-grandchildren, Sadie, Colby, Layla, and Alden. Born in the Bronx and raised in Astoria, Joan lived a life surrounded by family. She carried with her the values of love and loyalty throughout the entirety of her life, passing down the wisdom that came before. Joan had an unwavering love for singing and music, dancing, and getting dressed in her finest. Her laugh could fill a room, and her humor would leave you laughing for hours. Loyalty and being present for her family was the foundation of her life. Not only did she raise her two daughters, but she also became an extension of them when it came time for her to help raise her three grandchildren. Joan’s admiration for her family, her home, and life could be felt sitting around her dining room table that, over the years, became filled with stories of what came before. She had a special way of picking out the most beautiful birthday cards and took great pride in telling her family that she loved them. Joan passed peacefully at Nathan Adelson Hospice, surrounded by her family and wrapped in love. Although she will be greatly missed, her memory will be cherished, and her wisdom, strength, and love for family will continue to be passed on.
