Joan Savini, after 32 years in the Las Vegas area permanently changed residence on Friday, September 5, 2014 at the age of 80. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Joan was born on January 20, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to Louis J. McBane and Rose Barnes McBane. She was the youngest of three children, having a brother Thomas and a sister Betty. She was married twice; first for 12 years to John Robert Bowman with whom she had two daughters, Kathleen Renee Bowman and Tracy Lynn Bowman. In 1973, at the age of 39 she met her soul mate and partner for life, Ronald Frank Savini Sr. They married later that year and blended their two families into a family of five—Ron and Joan Savini Sr, son Ronald Savini Jr, and daughters Kathy and Tracy. Ron and Joan remained happily married for 28 years, separated only by Ron’s death in 2001. Forever in love with Ron, Joan did not remarry. Joan was a career waitress, but her passion was her family, friends and pets. She was always ready to extend her hand in friendship to all who would receive it. She quickly “adopted” her children’s friends into the family with open arms and was loved as “mom” by many who knew her. Her pets were just as much her kids as were her children. She loved good food, wine and laughter. She loved playing card games, gave challengers a lesson in vocabulary when it came to playing scrabble and was a pretty good bowler too! She had a sharp wit and was always ready with advice, direction and most importantly unconditional love. She is survived by her children and their families, all of whom brought great joy into her life…son and daughter-in-law Ron and Mary Liz Savini; daughter Kathy Bowman; daughter and son-in-law Tracy and Glenn Morgon; grandson Steven Savini; and granddaughters Rachel Savini and Zoe Morgon.
