

Joan was born on November 27th 1937. She was 84. She was born and raised in Arvada, Colorado. She was the oldest of 3 children and is survived by her sister, Ruth Ann Evans. She loved riding horses, was a Job’s daughter and loved all kinds of dancing. She even took classes from Bob Fosse.
Joan had her master’s degree in library science. She worked for the school district fr over 40 years as a teacher and librarian. She taught in Colorado and Nevada. She loved working with children of all ages.
Joan is survived by her only child, Kathryn Sweetser-Allen. They have lived together for the last two years.
Joan loved her annual trip to Laguna to see the Pageant of the Masters and to go to Cedar City for the Shakespeare Festival. Joan was very religious & loved going to church. Joan loved reading as many books as possible, doing puzzles online & of course playing Candy crush. She loved fishing in the Colorado Mountains & playing golf. She even got a hole in one.
She became a huge hockey fan when the Golden Knights started in Las Vegas. She never missed a game on TV and got to attend 3 games in person with her daughter. She loved to wear her different hockey jerseys of her favorite players.
Joan loved shopping and spending time with her family & friends. She was an amazing, incredible, kind, caring & loving wife, mother, sister, aunt & friend.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
