

Joan Villaire, age 82, of Las Vegas, a retired count supervisor for the Riviera Hotel and Casino, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 15, 1931 in Oakland, CA to Jonathan "Buzz" and Henrietta Wright. Joan was a resident of Las Vegas since 1965. She was a staunch supporter of A.F.A.N., The Epilepsy Foundation of America, The American Heart Association, numerous animal charities and a lifelong supporter of Vegas PBS. She was predeceased by her youngest son "Bobby" and survived by her two daughters, Jan Villaire of Henderson and Nancy (Marc) McDermott of Lawrenceville, GA; two sons, John (Patti) of Beaverton, OR and William "Bill" of Las Vegas; sister, Ann (Webb) Hayes of Concord, CA; six grandchildren, Lisa V, Jennifer, Christopher, Cheryl, Lisa R. and Laura; seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ian, Lane, Alexandrea, Ruby, Ryan and Amber; her life-long friend and ex-husband Alfred "A.E" Villaire; and her "bingo-buddy", Joyce McInnarney. The family requests that memorial donations be sent to A.F.A.N., The Epilepsy Foundation of America, or your favorite animal charity. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E.Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, NV. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 1:00pm at King David Memorial Chapel with burial following at Palm Valley View Cemetery. Palm Eastern Mortuary handled the arrangements.
