Dear Joan, I still think of you. I still remember all the wonderful "dine-out club" experiences we shared together with our group of friends. You were always a strong woman, even before that was either fashionable or accepted, yet your heart was pure gold. I will always cherish the memory of you.

Maybe a little late but my condolences to the Villaire family. I was a childhood friend of Robert and Bill. Jeez! Such a long time ago. I also remember Joan's extravagant meals with much fondness.

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to express my sorrow.  I worked with Joan at the Riviera for several years and remained friends for several more.  

Joan was a special person.  She was kind and non judgemental to everyone.  Her special love of flowers and animals was very endearing.  

I loved her special wit and smile.  She will be greatly missed.

Take flight angel.  You earned your wings early on.

Dear Family.--I cant express my  shock adequately  to have to realize that our Joan is gone---it wasn't supposed to happen  --I've always believed that Joan; Ann  and I would live forever and when the final time came we would go hand-in-hand to meet Henri and Buzz  together, in their garden.--I  hope you won't consider this  presumptuous   but this has been my thoughts all my life---now Joan must do it alone---I'm sorry----I Know she has our love --forever

 My condolences to Joan's family and friends. I worked with her at the Riviera and will cherish all those memories forever. She was a kind, warmhearted and funny friend. She was also the only person I knew, who would bake the most delicious Croquembouche profiterole towers.

My deepest condolences to the family.  Words cannot express how much I'll miss my "second mom."  After my mom died, Joan told me that God had kept her around so I'd still have a mom.  I love her more than I can say and though I'm very sad now with her passing, I know I'll enjoy smiling when I think of the wonderful times I spend in her company.  She made my life special and always made sure I was welcome at holidays so I wouldn't be alone.  I'll see you on the other side, dear friend.

Joan Villaire, Nancy's mom was a women of character. She had a character that one could make a good sitcom about. Highly educated, could talk about anything with out making one feel dumb. Her dry sense of humor was on point. Mrs. Villaire, I never called her Joan will be remembered.  Vickey England

I count myself among the most fortunate to have spent a September 2013 afternoon with Joan. She came to see my home. We drank wine and went for Chinese food. (That was her choice---not Thai, not Japanese, Chinese). We spent five hours together just ten days before she went into the hospital. God smiled on me that day, as did Joan.

May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.

I miss my grandma...her bright eyeshadow...her colorful mumus...sandals in any weather...the only person I know with a purse more packed than mine...her heart was made of gold and she will always be missed.

I bet Thadeuss was there to greet her along with a siamisse or two. I will miss talking English Roses and orchids with her. Love you Aunte Joan!

To the bereaved family of Mrs. Joan Villaire. May you all be comforted by continuing to reflect on the wonderful memories you shared together. Also there will be a time when sickness, pain and suffering that sometimes ends in death will be gone forever.

Our hearts are broken, but your kind thoughts and recollections of fond memories of our mother are comforting and are truly appreciated. She was a shining example of a life well lived, and she will always be loved, and dearly missed by all who had the honor to have known her. Thank You all for sharing your thoughts. And Thank You Mom, for always being there for us.

ow we lost a good one. a woman of unlimited generousity and kindness..the memories echo  going back about 40 years..her particular fondness for the felines  the needy  the ill and the poor   ...her spirit of life the enjoyment of the arts good food and drink   ...her travels    al and the offspring all got to share with my "2nd' MOM. lfelong  i feel blessed to have known and shared even a moment with this beautiful example ofHUMANITY...the world darkened a bit wth her departure..never will you be forgotten   sweet Joanie v.

What wonderful memories I have of chic, gourmet dinners with Joan and Al - in the '60's. .. and then finishing a bottle of Courvoisier while listening to great jazz.  I learned so much about cooking great food from Joan.  What a personality... and what energy!  My thoughts and love to all the family.

It was great to see Joan at the Pogo's reunion. It brought back happy memories of Joan and Al when I worked for EG&G in the 60's.
I know she is in a wonderful place now. Death is a beautiful door to an even more beautiful room. We will all miss her.

My Aunt.  The only one who could get away with fake eyelashes, blue eye liner, and blue toenail polish when it wasn't  vogue.....wait a minute....was it ever?  Yep, that was my crazy/wild/lighthearted aunt.

My heart goes out to you and your family as my Mother just passed.  Her comforting and loving spirit is always with me as it will be for you.

I was lucky to have Joan as a mother in law. She always treated me as if I was her own son. (Well there was that time she threw a twenty dollar bill  at me and told me where I could stick it, but that doesn't count). I will never forgot the amazing meals she put together a fantastic cook! (the fried crème was out of this world). Joan was an extremely strong willed person able to handle any hurdle that came her way and rise above it.She will be missed but never ever forgotten.
