October 8, 1934 — October 23, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Joanne Turrin Leiser on October 23, 2026, at Nathan Adelson Hospice. Joanne, born on October 8, 1934, in New Philadelphia, Ohio, departed this world following a courageous battle with dementia, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
Joanne was the cherished daughter of the late Henry and Marye Turrin. She was lovingly reunited with her beloved husband, Dean Leiser, whom she married on June 10, 1956, as well as her parents and dear aunts, Jeanne Eagan and Eva Snyder, and uncle, Robert Eagan.
A devoted mother, Joanne is survived by her children: Gary, Pam, and Karen, who honor her memory with profound love and gratitude. She was a proud and doting grandmother to Collin, Elizabeth, Heather, and Carson, and a beloved great-grandmother to Lylah, Hudson, Mila, Lincoln, Nova, and Taylor.
Joanne's dedication to caring for others was evident throughout her life. She graduated from Akron City Hospital Nursing School as a registered nurse, a profession that allowed her to touch many lives with compassion and skill. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and she was a devoted member of the Green Valley Presbyterian Church.
In her leisure, Joanne found joy in simple pleasures. She had a passion for exploring antique and thrift stores, embarking on road trips, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and her faithful dog, Liam. Joanne's life was a testament to her kind, generous, and supportive nature, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Joanne's life will be held on November 30, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Palm Mortuary, located at 7600 Eastern Avenue. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and to celebrate the remarkable life she lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Joanne's memory. They extend their heartfelt gratitude to Bristol Hospice, Nathan Adelson Hospice, and everyone who provided care and comfort to Joanne during her final days.
Joanne's spirit will forever be cherished and remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire generations to come.
