

John earned a college degree in Electrical Engineering and began his career working in Saudi Arabia in the 1990s as an electrical staff member. In 1995, he immigrated to the United States with his siblings and built a life in Las Vegas, Nevada. He continued his professional journey as a Dealer/Table Games Supervisor at The Orleans Hotel and Casino, where he was a respected and dedicated employee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus de la Peña and Conchita M. de la Peña, as well as his siblings Leonardo de la Peña (2024), Marissa de la Peña (2025), and Edilberto de la Peña.
John is survived by his loving children: Napier, Charles, Joshua, Keanna, John Marcus, and Justin de la Peña. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Nakai and Joon. He leaves behind his siblings Myrna D. Sheets, Marilou D. Stocks, Maritess D. Pineda, Nolberto de la Peña, Rony de la Peña, and Arsenio Jay de la Peña, along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
John was a man full of life, passion, and generosity. He had a deep love for music, especially singing karaoke and playing the guitar. He often shared these moments with his family, singing duets with his siblings and teaching his children how to play guitar and enjoy music. His home was always filled with laughter and song.
He was also a sports enthusiast who loved watching football and basketball and took great joy in teaching his children how to play. John was an active member of bowling leagues during his younger years and proudly represented his workplace in competitions, earning multiple trophies and even achieving first place in a league championship.
At home, John was known as the family’s chef, always preparing meals for gatherings and special occasions. He was also a skilled handyman and electrician who could fix almost anything. From installing sound systems to maintaining the house and yard, John took pride in caring for his home and helping others. He was always willing to lend a hand to friends and family, leaving a lasting impression through his kindness, generosity, and genuine spirit.
John will be remembered as a devoted father, a loving grandfather, a supportive sibling, and a true friend. His legacy of love, music, hard work, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Gathering will be held at Palm Mortuary - Eastern, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123, US, on April 9, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location on April 9, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and Visitation at the same location on April 9, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
