It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of John Joseph Maguire, who passed away on December 30, 2024 at the age of 85. He was surrounded by family in his final moments.
John Joseph Maguire was born on May 24, 1939 to Michael John and Sarah Theresa Maguire. He grew up in Brooklyn, NY and attended City College of New York where he graduated with honors in 1962. He joined the Air Force upon graduation and attended Officer Training School at Lackland Military Training Center in San Antonio, TX. He was promoted to the rank of Lt. Colonel and spent 22 years in the Air Force where he traveled the world with and without his family.
In 1965, he married the love of his life, Diane Marie Weaver. John and Diane enjoyed playing golf, bowling, cruising, watching sports, and walking their beloved dogs throughout their nearly 60 years of marriage.
John moved with his family to Las Vegas, NV in August of 1987 and began his second career as a Director of Security for a government contract. He eventually retired in 2001 and enjoyed his golden years with his wife and golden retrievers.
