Jordi Riera

Jordi Riera, 55, lived in Las Vegas since May of 2004 and passed away on August 6, 2014 at 1:40am at Infinity Hospice after diagnosed with Lung Cancer. He was born on July 22, 1959 in Badalona, Barcelona, Spain. He was married to Jia Mei Wang on March 7, 1994 in Singapore as they both were working for US companies. Jordi graduated from Barcelona University with a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science in 1982. He received his Master Degree in Computer Operating System from Stanford University in California, 1984. He worked for Computerland as head of technical support in Spain for several years after he returned from the US, then he joined Lotus software company which was later purchased by IBM as a System Architect for 20 years. He also worked several years for Tantau and 7.24 software companies in Austin, Texas; his most recent career was with Business Intelligence Group as Senior Solution Architect. Jordi enjoyed shooting and he had joined shooting competitions representing Spain in Zimbabwe and other countries. He was a member of the Desert Sportsmen in Las Vegas. Jordi enjoyed reading, movies and he was very grand and helpful to others. Jordi is survived by his wife Jia Mei; his two sons George and William; and his sister Esther.
