Jose D. “Dan” Medina, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, Nevada went home to be with our Lord on February 28, 2021.

Dan was preceded in death by his father Jose G. Medina; his mother Adelia R. Medina; his father-in-law Joe E. Weber; and mother-in-law Esperanza Weber...all of New Mexico.

Dan is survived by his loving wife of 57 years – Julia “Julie” Medina of Las Vegas, Nevada; his daughter Judy Medina (Manuel); sons Joe Medina (Roger-deceased) of Henderson, Nevada, Dennis Medina (Mekhaly) of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters: Susie Cordova (Leo-deceased), Eliza Ferreyra (George), Mary Frances Woog (Willie-deceased), JoAnn Cordova (Tobias), Dolores Jasso (Eddie-deceased), Becky Medina and Carla Reiner.

Jose D. Medina was born on May 14, 1941 in Mora, New Mexico to Jose G. and Adelia Medina. He lived the ranch life that he loved until 1960 when he re-located to Las Vegas, Nevada to work. He married the Love of his life, Julia Weber, in November 1963. He and his Julie, as he called her, started their family which consisted of their daughter Judy and sons Joe and Dennis in Las Vegas which would remain his home until he left this earth.

Dan devoted 35 years to the Union Pacific Railroad as well as held a side job of landscaping for approximately the same number of years. Some of his landscape clients were prominent celebrities in the likes of Robert Goulet and Phyllis Diller.

Dan bought the family ranch in New Mexico from his parents and enjoyed spending the warm weather months there every year after his retirement.

He worked hard and played hard. He was a jokester and loved by all that met him.

Dan was preceded in death by his father Jose G. Medina; his mother Adelia R. Medina; his father-in-law Joe E. Weber; and mother-in-law Esperanza Weber...all of New Mexico.
