

Joseph M. Gilby, age 76, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on January 3, 1950.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Gilby and Janet Gilby, and his sister, Alice Gilby. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Dixie Gilby; his sister, Mabel Gilby; and his brother, Michael Gilby.
Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He leaves behind his four children: Yurii Harden, Veronica Drazba, Kimberly Gilby, and Denise Filippini. He was also a cherished father-in-law to Matthew Harden and Paul Drazba. His greatest joy was being “Pop-Pop” to his five grandchildren: Scott Safka, Payton Morrow, Maximus Harden, Adam Drazba, and Lila Drazba. He treasured every moment spent with them, always ready with a joke, a story, or a smile.
Raised in Belvidere, New Jersey, Joe carried with him a strong work ethic throughout his life. He enjoyed a successful career as a CNC machinist before retiring. Never one to stay idle, he later worked part-time at Walgreens.
Joe had a passion for nature and was a talented landscape photographer. Through his camera lens, he captured the beauty of wildlife, scenic landscapes, and the great outdoors. He loved golfing and camping and found peace in nature’s quiet moments. At home, he could often be found enjoying his favorite television programs, Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune, cheering on the Boston Red Sox, reading a good book, or listening to music by The Beatles.
Above all, Joe will be remembered for the love he had for his family. He was kind, dependable, and generous with his time. His warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion to those he loved will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Joe’s legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the memories he created, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness and love.
