2 years this february and I still remember you as if it was last week. Fly high, friend.

Hi baby, I’m sorry it’s taken me a minute to do this, it took a lot of courage and working through the anger. I want you to know the last text I sent to you, I meant. You are SO strong. No one I know could have faced this as you did, with unwavering strength and will to live. I wish life wasn’t so unfair, but know that we’re all so proud of you. I wish I could have told you I’m gonna be a mom, isn’t that just nuts?? Watch over this baby, will you? You were such a good big brother, I can only trust that job with you. I love you, papas. You did beautifully in this life. I can’t wait to see you in the next one. Kiss grandma for me.

Thank you for being such a good big brother Jojo, I'll regret not telling you how much I love you for the rest of my life. You always picked me up from school and dropped me off, sometimes you'd even get me taco bell. You never let me starve, and you took such great care of me. I miss coming home and hearing you say "Hi jaybug". I would do anything to just hug you and hold your hand again. Words cant explain how much I love you my Jojo. 💙

Joseph, you were such a sweet brother to Jayla and Alex. I remember you bringing Jayla into my classroom before school started so she would have a place to sit and color. Although I didn't know you well personally, I knew you through the eyes of your aunt Alex, and your Mom. They adored you...you were such a special, kind soul. I know you touched many hearts, and no one will be the same without you. It's such a tragedy to lose someone so special, as you, with so much left to give. I know you will watch over your family. You are truly loved beyond measure. ♥️

I will never forget you from the internet from the other side of the country. You were an unforgettable personality and figure. I shall bare witness to your obituaries and funeral livestream to any who are skeptic to your passing (without leaking your personal info). Hopefully we shall meet again.

Joseph was in my 4th grade class (2012). He smiled often and enjoyed learning. He was so sweet and caring. Even things weren't going great, he never let it bring him down. He continuous to inspire me to do the same.

I remember the first time I met little JoJo when my wife & I were first dating. It was our first time together visiting my wife's family together in Vegas. JoJo was 8 years old. I took him & his little brother to the park down the street to get some exercise. He was so concerned for the safety of his little brother Alex that he didn't even really play, just kept a close eye on him to make sure he didn't hurt himself. I saw right away what a great big brother he was, always focusing all of his attention on his little brother & sister. He was responsible beyond his years, & such a sweet kid. This is how I will always remember him.

During the AV Marching Band's second trip to Six Flags, everyone paired up into groups with theit closest friends. I, as usual back then, walked alone. But as soon as I ran into Joe with his group, he made sure I didn't go alone.

He was a real one. Fly higher my man. You’re in a better place now taking over heaven for the legion. 123.

Joe, you were the best friend that I never got to meet. Only a month ago we were spending every day over my break playing video games. I had your work schedule memorized, Tuesdays and Wednesdays off, so that I knew when we could just take the whole day and play Hearts of Iron 4. I've spent thousands upon thousands of hours with you, and you've been a part of my life for the past 5 years. We planned on meeting this summer, and I'm truly devastated we never got to. Selfishly, part of me feels robbed, but I know we will be united again someday. You always had hope in me, in what I was and what I was going to accomplish. You never dragged me down like so many others have, you always had my back and I had yours. I wish I got to tell you how much you really meant to me, how much more enjoyable you made my days, and how much you really impacted my life overall. There's so much I really wish I had said to you, and not doing so is going to be something I regret for the rest of my life. You were always an example for me, you lived your life by the good book and were one of the best and moral people I knew, and going forward I am going to aspire to be as good as you were. Thank you for all the memories Joe, I will never forget you and will make sure that your legacy lives on. 

Joseph was the sweetest, most caring kid I’ve ever known. He would never hurt anyone and would do anything for his family. He loved his Mom more than anything & will always be watching over her. He loved his Dad, brother & sister. His Auntie Alex had a special place in his heart, as he did hers.  Papi, Papa, Grandma, Uncles, Aunts & Cousins all cared for and loved Jojo so much. Because he touched so many of us there will be emptiness in all of us. Because Jojo never wanted anyone to be sad, we all must remember to find happiness for him looking down. He will always look over all his family and do all he can from above. We love you so much & will miss you  Jojo! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

 Uncle Dusty

I remember how I’d want to play with jojo everyday with his Lego or Star Wars. Playing with him is how I got into that stuff. Every time I’d build something he’ll go over to fix it so that’ll look organized, instead of messy lol. Another time was how he didn’t like the way I’ll hug him every single time I saw him. I’d hug him either very tightly when I’d pick him up or around his neck. I remember waiting almost everyday at his bus stop so I can run over and give him a hug. Another time was I was messy with him while he was sitting on the table eating his Taco Bell. While me and Alex we’re on break after studying. I told him, “ hey jojo do you want to see a magic trick.” He said, “ oh gosh what is it.” And I had shoved the entire food in my mouth. He just started laughing and told me what is wrong with you, you need to chew. 

To My Love JoJo,
I waited for today to share my message because it’s Valentine’s Day and you were my heart. I cherished you Joseph. You’re my baby boy, my love. When you walked into the room my heart would light up. I’m so grateful that I have so many memories with you. I’m grateful that we shared a special relationship. I know that you knew how special you were to me and could come to me for anything. I can’t wrap my mind around the fact that I won’t see you walk through the door again, text back and forth with you, or FaceTime when I missed your face. It all seems unreal. I know you’ll be the first person I see when I close my eyes for the last time. No matter how short or long that may be I’ll think of you everyday. I’ll keep my last promise to you. I’ll keep your name alive. I love you Joseph. There are no amount of tears or words to express how much I’ll miss you.

Words can’t explain how deeply saddened we all are that your life was cut so short. I remember the day you were born the joy you brought to all of our lives. You were such a good kid who never got in trouble. You were always so concerned with everyone else and how we felt right up until your last day with us. We are lost without you and don’t know how our family will enjoy life while there is this emptiness in our hearts that was filled by you. I know you are in a better place watching over us and protecting us. We will always share your memory and do things to make sure your name lives on.  It’s funny because I didn’t want you to be named after me but you wore the name so proudly and loved being a JR. I am so proud of you and the life you lived and the way you fought. I miss you every day and I wish I could hold you in my arms again but I know you're close and I know I will see you again in a better place. I love you with all my heart my boy.  Rest in paradise 🕊
