His favorite place was in the midst of the fun and sun in Clearwater, Beach. Rainy days, inclement weather or the clouds couldn’t keep him away. Outdoors and sand was a way of life. In 2003, Josh relocated to Las Vegas, where he spent most of his life. Here he attended John F. Miller School. A wonderful renowned special education center. Josh was at home here and like family. He was not only a star student, but well known and loved by so many of the teachers and staff. Mr. David Farrar loved him like his own.He loved participating in all school activities. Josh especially loved the yearly Halloween festivities at school. He had an amazing and memorable costume every Halloween.
His personal achievements were too many to count. The most important one was always smiling and loving life. There were so many physical limitations that affected his health, but they never affected his spirit. The perseverance that Josh showed us from day to day was astonishing. His strength over came so many obstacles and presumable timelines. We always knew him as a fighter, Always. Joshue’s biggest achievement was to touch so many people and to make them better people for it. All without saying one word.
After graduating high school, Josh immediately began supervising and assisting his dad with property rehabilitation. He would personally help pick out tiles, accent colors for the wall and furniture. He was a frequent customer at Home Depot and Lowes where employees would recognize him. He enjoyed staying busy and interacting with those that helped. He wouldn’t want to go home until he felt his job was done. On Josh’s personal time, he loved to be around animals. His whole life he felt a strong connection with different attributes of animal nature. Josh loved to volunteer his time at the Las Vegas animal ranch.
He Attended every horseback riding practice with his sister Brianna. One particular loving and sensitive horses would come up to Josh on his wheelchair. One particular horse would gently bow his large head on Josh’s lap and keep it there. The horse hugged him and felt his warmth, As if to say, I’m here with you. Watching this nonverbal interaction was miraculous and divine. Josh had a sense of always believed that we were bound together in the animal kingdom in one way or another. Josh also managed his tight schedule well. He enjoyed attending his brother Kevynn’s baseball and football games. He attended countless holiday tournaments in numerous states in the heat or rain. Without fail. He strongly requested watching only three innings of baseball because that was his threshold. His eyes would quickly focus on his surroundings with the possibilities of walking a new trail in the vicinity of the ballpark.
Josh was recognized in his life many times. One of his proudest accomplishments was when he received student of the year award from the John Miller School.
