Judith C. Cohen, passed away on January 10, 2025 peacefully in her home in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born in Manhattan, New York on September 17, 1937 to Pauline and Arthur Metz. Her sister, Francis, was 8 years older than she was and she always looked up to her for support and advice. She loved her sister with all her heart.
Judith took pride in her home, loved to socialize with friends and family and made Sunday night dinners which were so special to her family. It was a time where we could gather around the table and talk, laugh and connect with one another. She also enjoyed going to Broadway shows and listening to them on her stereo turntable which was a thing of her time. As kids, my brothers and I would gather in the living room and dance with her as she played her favorite records.
Judith was graced with physical beauty which was always admired by many. When Judith walked into a room, she would light up the room with her beauty and a warm smile. We will always remember her as a warm, caring and loving mother and friend. In later years she worked beside her husband in their stationary store, Goldens, a self-owned retail business that was initiated by her father and passed on to her and her sister and their husbands. The store was located in the upper West side of Manhattan on Broadway and was a staple in the community for over 60 years. Working in Goldens Stationary gave her purpose when her children were grown.
She is survived by her three children who she loved with all her heart. Her daughter Susan and her sons David and Richard were the pride and joy of her life. Also, a blessing to Judith is her daughter-in-law Maria who shared love, friendship and cared for Judith over the years while living in Las Vegas. Other surviving family members are her son-in-law, Christopher and daughter-in-law Marilyn; Grandchildren, Michael, Kevin and Sergio Sr.; and her Great Grandchildren, Sergio Jr., Andrew and Kayla.
Judith will be forever missed and in our hearts. ❤️
