Judith Sansone, 78, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on March 10, 2018 while hospitalized at St. Rose Hospital in Henderson. She is now looking down upon us from heaven with that friendly and happy smile. She was born in Rhode Island to Winniferd and Ernest Heald on December 2, 1939 and moved to Fresno, California at a very young age where she attended local schools. She moved to San Fernando Valley, California and while working at Town and Country Ford she met the love of her life, Nick Sansone. They were soon married in Las Vegas, Nevada fifty-five years ago. They made their home in Southern California where Judy was the Personnel Director for J.D. Powers for many years. She made many friends over the years with her friendly smile and her contagious laugh.
Here are a few testimonials from her neighbors and friends. Ernie Schwendemann stated, "When you needed something done, call Judy - she was a doer. She always had a big smile, great laugh, hug and a kiss every time she saw you. What a fun-loving person, great partner, especially if you wanted to win, and she made losing tolerable. Judy, my world was bigger and better when you were in it - you've gone too soon". Maryann Tripp stated, "I met Judy for the first time when we moved to Anthem, and we soon became good friends. Despite her own ailments, she was selflessly right by my side when my daughter was dying of cancer. Not only was she an animal lover, she was also a kind and compassionate friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her." Pat Faulkner stated, "Judy Sansone was a great friend. We met on Rosendale Village Avenue twelve years ago and then Judy and Nick moved to Powder Springs Street. It was still within walking distance. Jude was: 1) a great hostess no matter how large or small the group was, 2) her love of playing games i.e. cards and dominoes, 3) a good listener, 4) a fantastic cook and 5) she always looked beautiful. I remember her dressed as a gypsy reading Tarot cards at a Pinnacle Halloween party. We also shared time together at Red Hats, girls poker group and women's club. I will miss Judy, but she will always be in my heart and thoughts".
Judy loved to socialize and laugh with friends. She was a member of a local ladies poker club as well as a member of the "Red Hatters". She also volunteered to be a member of our Pinnacle representative group. Judy was always committed to making our community a better place to live. Judy loved to play card games as well as Dominoes etc. with friends. She also had a knack for decorating the interior of her beautiful home as well as the exterior. She would get bored very easily and that would prompt her to make changes; changes in decorations, furniture, etc. The one area that she was constant in was her love for the color Teal. She would paint wallpaper or do whatever was necessary to ensure that her vision was accomplished.
Judy touched so many lives. Pangy Hutton states, "Judy's beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and compassion for sick and sad friends, these are memories shared by all of us who knew and loved her. My own special memories are of how delighted we were when we discovered our mutual love for Mexican food, Margaritas and poker. We shared many long lunches becoming familiar with each other's history. We laughed a bunch and cried a little too. Rest in Peace girlfriend. I'll forever treasure our friendship." Bob and Betty Nash stated, "Judy has been a special friend and neighbor and God could not have blessed us with anyone better. She will be missed but never forgotten. All our love, Judy." Kathy Schwendemann stated, "Dear Nick, It was easy to see that God blessed you and Judy with each other. When you worked on projects together your talents really blended, with an eye for art and style in putting it all together beautifully. She was quite "a buffalo woman" and it made me feel proud to be one also. I admired Judy for her confidence and strength, her smarts and organization, sense of humor, wisdom and her "get it done" attitude. I enjoyed having Judy as a partner in "In Hand and Foot".... win or lose....especially winning of course. I will miss her laugh and fellowship. Love You, Kathy.
Judy is survived by her husband, Nick; her son Michael of Henderson, Nevada; grandson Tony of Salem, Oregon; and a sister Dawn Lemer of Georgia. Also her beloved pet schnauzer, Abigail "Abby Rose".
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 11:00am at Palm Mortuary, 7600 South Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
