On January 18, 1958, our beloved Kathy was born, bringing with her a spirit full of warmth, laughter, and love. To know her was to know joy—because she had a gift for making even the simplest moments feel like something special.
When she moved to Las Vegas, it quickly became more than just her home—it became the family summer hangout. Year after year, she opened her doors wide, asking, “Who’s coming out?” Whether it was poolside laughter, late-night talks, or simply sitting around her table, she created memories that stitched our family even closer together.
She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, seen, and loved. Her laughter filled every room, and her presence was a comfort we could always count on. She wasn’t just a sister—she was a safe place, a confidant, and a piece of home no matter where you were.
Kathy is survived by her father, Vernon, her siblings, Felicia (Brian) and Veronica, nine nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever remember her. She was preceded in death by her mother Clara Hawkins.
Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, they are also full—with the stories she left us, the traditions she started, and the love she poured into each of us. Her spirit will live on in every family gathering, every shared laugh, and every memory of summers spent together.
We will miss her deeply, and whether you knew her as Katherine, Kathy, Auntie Kathy or Nan we will carry her always—forever loved, forever remembered, and forever a part of us.
