
Kathleen “Bobby/Kasia” Bridget Hazen, 83, of Las Vegas, NV passed away peacefully at Havenbrook Care Home in Las Vegas, NV, she was the daughter of the late Adam Urbanik and Josephine (Borawski) Hazen. Kathleen graduated from Sacred Heart High School, then her bachelor’s in education from SUNY Oswego and her master’s in education from University of Buffalo and became a teacher at Wilson Central High School. On July 10, 1971, she married David Carlton Hazen beginning a 53-year marriage built on love, faith, and mutual respect. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
Whether it was through her volunteer work, charitable contributions, or everyday acts of kindness, Kathleen sought to make our community a better place for everyone. Everyone knew Kathleen and her profound love for teaching, reading and sharing her knowledge. Her presence will be dearly missed by those whose lives she touched.
Kathleen is survived by her two sons, Kevin ‘Jet’ (Akiko) Hazen and her two grandsons Ryzun and Jet and Mark (Marygold) Hazen and her granddaughter Sophia and three grandsons Nowele, Hodori, and Mateo, all of whom she adored. She is also survived by her nieces Linda (Mark) Burdick and Sandra (Pasquale) Miele and nephew Frank (Melissa) Sarat and niece Terry (Jim) Koch. Predeceased by sisters Virginia (Leland Rowse) and Helen. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and wide circle of friends who will miss her warmth, generosity and infectious enthusiasm of life.
