Kenneth Duke Pace (63), son of Thomas Martin Pace and Billie Joy McBride, was born August 29, 1956 in Duncan, AZ in a small clinic in the home of Dr. J.J. Lovett. When he was three the family moved to Franklin where Kenny grew up helping with chores on the farm. Kenny, or K.D, as he became known, attended Duncan schools until the Paces moved to Animas, NM when he was a junior. K.D. was active in Little League Baseball, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and activities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. K.D. eventually joined Gina in the business she previously started by managing the financial aspect of owning and operating four assisted living residential group homes. He loved the outdoors, raising cockatiels, researching the lives of his ancestors, and studying history.
Kenny passed away May 16, 2020 in Las Vegas, NV from pneumonia compounded by a history of underlying respiratory problems. He was tender-hearted but loved to tease, slow to judge and quick to laugh, and a man of few words with a quiet smile. He bore his illness patiently and treated his caregivers with kindness.
He is survived by his wife Gina, sister Susan (Stephen) Harms, and brothers Steve (Vivian), J.D. (Yolande), and Tom. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Gary. Kenny’s life is best summed up by the words of his beloved Gina, “He was a good man.”
