Kyle Joseph Lopez, age 46, of Las Vegas, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at St. Rose Siena Hospital in Las Vegas. He fought an extremely courageous and short battle with cancer. God gave his wife the honor of being with him on his final journey Home. He was born on April 21, 1976, in Redlands California and graduated from Redlands High School, where he was an all-around athlete and attained Eagle Scout status. He moved to Las Vegas in 1995, graduated from UNLV with a BS in Sociology in 1999; then graduated from the LVMPD Academy in 2000, retiring after twenty years, protecting and serving our local community. He had a passion for backpacking and the great outdoors, which included “100-milers” in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Iceland and Patagonia, just to name a few. He loved to travel with his wife. Favorite vacation spots included Kauai and Ireland. He was a lover of dogs, any kind really; however, he loved being surrounded by his four beloved labs: Sierra, Meadow, Alpine and Sequoia. He loved his retirement and spent his days in some sort of exercise, visiting the dog park, watching movies, or smoking the occasional cigar. He enjoyed spending quality time at home in his recliner watching the History Channel. He truly loved his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Amanda (nee Franchi); parents: Frank and Kathleen Lopez; brothers: Sean and Adam Lopez and niece: Cheyanne Lopez. We will all carry Kyle’s love for life, inspiration and passion for tomfoolery. At Kyle’s request, a private Celebration of Life will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kyle’s name are suggested to the American Cancer Society of Las Vegas, PO Box 231359, Las Vegas, NV 89105. Arrangements entrusted to Palm Southwest Mortuary, Las Vegas.
