As a child, his parents divorced early and his mom moved to Detroit, Michigan. As a teenager, Larry worked at United Shirt to put himself through electronic engineering school at Detroit Institute of Technology in Michigan. He met Heather Lepofsky and the two were married in 1960. Larry worked for Chrysler Missile Division on the Mercury Redstone Project, and was later offered a position working in the missile program in Huntsville, Alabama. He decided to remain in Michigan to be with his growing family and went into the clothing business. He started working at Blocks Clothes and later at Louis The Hatter in Detroit Michigan selling to Motown stars and many Detroit Tigers players. In 1970, he decided to open his own clothing store, Pant World on Grand River. As the economy took a turn for the worst in the mid 70’s, he closed his store. In 1979, he received a call from a friend with the opportunity to run a clothing chain in California, Zeidler and Zeidler. He made the trip and was offered to run all the stores in Las Vegas. The rest of the family followed and moved out to Vegas in May 1980 from Michigan. He continued to work for Z & Z, for many years at the Meadows Mall and opened the Fashion Show Mall and Boulevard Mall Stores, and sold clothes to many famous Vegas Headliners. He left Z & Z and eventually pursued a career in real estate. He was a member of the original Temple Beth Shalom on Oakey and eventually the one on Havenwood. Larry is survived by his three sons and daughter-in-laws, Dr. Steve and Marcy Saxe, Dr. Michael and Ilanit Saxe and Dr. Joshua and Felice Saxe. He has nine grandchildren, Ryan and his wife Desiree, Brandon, Carly, Nathaniel, Bailey, Ethan, Sarah, Heather, and Courtney. He was blessed to have a great granddaughter, Emilia, daughter of Ryan and Desiree. He always was proud of all of them. We all will miss him. The family requests that all memorial donations go to the Temple Beth Sholom Heather Saxe Scholarship Fund. King David Memorial handle the arrangements.
