Layne "Sharon" Grubb, 57, of Las Vegas, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010. She was born March 10, 1953, in Lexington, N.C., and was a 15-year resident of Las Vegas. Layne was the office manager at Key Realty for the past several years. She will always be remembered for her long red hair and sweet southern accent. Layne's life passion was animals. She devoted all of her time to her animals and rescued many cats and dogs throughout the years. Layne was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dorothy Pearson. She is survived by her brother, Skip (Judy) Pearson; niece, Jennifer; uncle, Richard "Benny" (Joanne Harrison); several cousins; and best friend, Maria Schifano. A celebration of Layne's life will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Donations can be made to Best Friends Animal Society, in Kanab, Utah.
