Leo Michelson, 89, a retired pharmacist assistant, of Henderson, NV, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014. He was born on November 20, 1924 in Chicago, IL. He was a war hero awarded the Purple Heart and Gold Leaf Cluster during his service in the U.S. Army during WW II. But most of all, he was a hero to his entire family and to all that knew him. He is preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Mary and Paul Goldsmith; and his cousin Ralph Goldsmith. He is survived by his cousins, Harold Goldsmith of Las Vegas, Jonathan Goldsmith of Las Vegas, Micah Goldsmith of Half Moon Bay, CA, and Aleza Freeman of Las Vegas. Graveside services will be held 12:00pm, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Palm Valley View Cemetery, 7600 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV. Family requests that memorial donations be sent to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
