Lynn Carrol Gudmundsson

Lynn is survived by her husband, Pall Gudmundsson; Her children, Brett Allen Schiflett, Frank Rositas Jr, Kristrun Hoydal, Jon Palsson and Pall Palsson; Her brother, Earl (Bud) Allen; Her grandchildren, Brittany Shiflett-Correa, Stevi Lynn Shiflett, Jaye Rositas, Graci Lynn Rositas, Alexis Hoydal, Katelyn Hoydal, Kennedy Palsson, Kameron Palsson, Alana Palsson, Joanny Palsson, Axel Palsson; Her great-grandchildren, Charlotte Kate Wright, Margaux Olive Correa, Josiah Rositas. She is preceded in death by her father, Earl Truman Allen; Her mother, Lillian Grace Allen; Her sister Gail Allen Marple.

Lynn was born on November 19, 1948 in Fresno, California to Lillian Grace Allen and Earl Truman Allen. She married Pall, in 1995. Lynn and Pall shared 17 beautiful years in California together. After moving to Las Vegas in 2010, Lynn began working for Spring Mountain Treatment Center as a UR Coordinator before becoming the UR Director. Lynn was assiduous, especially when it came to work. She was incredibly passionate about Behavioral Health. Lynn spent over 40 years of her nursing career in behavioral health, including 17 years at Aurora Behavioral Healthcare in San Diego, California.

Her children remember her as a selfless mom who was firm but fair. She never failed to show them how proud she was to be their Mom. Her grandchildren remember that she endlessly encouraged them to follow their dreams. They feel that they know what it is to be loved unconditionally because of her.

Lynn was as classy as they came. Those that knew her knew how infectious her laugh was. One thing she didn’t hold back was her honesty, her family will miss her witty comments. Lynn was also just as fierce. “My rock,” as many would say.

A celebration of life is scheduled for June 13, 2020 at Palm Southwest Mortuary, with a reception to follow at The Gudmundsson Residence.
